Through our private sector consultation experience, we understand that the process of scaling up systems is often less about a perfect plan and more about having a good plan and the right people with an orientation towards growth. This ability to take risks and learn from mistakes results in sustainable development with exponential growth.
Context Global Development® is excited to be a part of solving some of the world's greatest challenges through agricultural innovation within our lifetime.
Welcome to a new level of agricultural program standards.
There is nothing more exciting or rewarding than having the opportunity to make a major impact on the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and value chain entrepreneurs. In doing so, our current programs support agriculture’s mandate to deliver on the world’s growing demands for food, feed, fiber, and renewable energy.
Take a look at some of our programs below:
Rich Oats for Africa (ROA) provides the opportunity to address acute nutritional needs via culturally relevant oat-based foods. By working in regions already using oats in traditional foods, these new, nutrient-dense oat varieties can benefit farming communities and develop local economies.
Building an Economically Sustainable, Integrated Seed System for Cassava in Nigeria (BASICS) is aimed at sustainably improving farmers’ access to high quality and affordable cassava planting materials through the development and promotion of commercial models for seed provision.
Sorghum and Millet in the Sahel was aimed at realizing agricultural productivity gains and improving livelihoods for smallholder farmers growing sorghum and pearl millet in the Sahelian zones of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Nigeria.
The Institutionalizing Monitoring of Crop Variety Adoption using Genotyping program (IMAGE) is a five-year program led by country teams in Nigeria, Tanzania, and Ethiopia supported by Context Global Development® and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, with the aim of establishing, institutionalizing, and scaling routine monitoring of improved variety adoption and turnover using genotyping.
